I surrendered 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 8
I just ordered Comcast's $99 package. I know, I know. I said I would never do business with them, but the thought of another season going to someone else's house if I wanted to watch the Cougars' away games....

You see, I dropped QWest's DSL service some time ago (it was lousy out here), and have been paying $45/month for Earthlink. It's better service, but terribly expensive when you consider that I still had a QWest phone bill, and no matter how you slice it, you will always pay over $100 a month to have both, the way I was having to deal with separate ISP and phone carriers.

Now I can have digital phone, cable TV (with the MTN, Versus, CSTV) AND my broadband Internet for about he same price as I was paying for two services. I hope I am not going to have to deal with all the blue screens, and crappy customer service I had during my previous stint with cable. I also had a lousy experience the first time I had a cable modem. I went back to dialup then, because I had the same connection speed, but paid less than half the price for it. At that time, they had sold the package to every one of my neighbors and there just wasn't a fast connection unless you could get on after 11 PM.

Okay boys, you got me.... but I'm not coming in happy. Show me I didn't make a mistake.

Post edited by: Iceman, at: 2007/07/30 23:40

As one having consistently had Comcast Digital Cable before and throughout this whole TV scenario, I have felt it somewhat comforting to know that I don't have to worry about missing games. Granted, I have season tickets so I see half of the games in person but I like knowing all I have to do is remember which channel the game is on that week, set the Tivo, and I'm all set. Peace of mind is an almost priceless asset.

Post edited by: cougarblue333, at: 2007/07/31 00:52

I've had pretty much every TV and internet service over the last several years in the Orem/Provo area. I've had Qwest, DirecTV, Dish Network, and iProvo/Mstar. And I can honestly say that I prefer Comcast over any of the others for both TV and internet.

I've had Comcast at several different addresses now and can't say I have a single complaint about them.

I also signed up for Comcast. I also have Dish. I spend close to 250 per month just to make sure I don't miss any games this year. I was so sick and tired of just listening last year and then trying to watch the game on KBYU. I am very excited for the coming season. Go Cougs

I have had both comcast and iProvo\MStar and would never go back to Comcast. If for no other reason then there customer service reps are all idiots. I had so many problems with them that I would call and never speak to the first person on the phone, but immediately get shifted to a manager. At least they had the authority to do something for me. Plus, with comcast, once they have you they could care less about you. Never any incentives or discounts to stay.

When I finally got iProvo in my area and switched I had a guy calling me the next day offering me all these great deals to come back. I was very disappointed as these deals were not available to me EVER prior to that unless I discontinued my service for 6 months. What a crock. Now I can see my Cougs play every game I don't attend and can watch the recorded ones I did attend when I get home. Very sweet!

Go Cougs!!!
