Why not? Technically I should ding both you and him (and myself). This is way worse than acknowledging him in a normal post.

Interesting. Do you have a link? Not trying to be a butt, but every site I went to said that he was competing for the back-up spot although he's the future at RB at UCLA. Markey is a good RB so I don't see the injury to Carter that big and we'll still have our hands full with UCLA.

It came accross the ESPN News board. so that is the source, no link. No matter, UCLA is so inconsistent, I am not to worried about them. Their coach is not all-world, and they have other issues, like an assitant in trouble with the law. That tells me that they have inconsistency with in the program.

Who cares about malaria. The IMPORTANT stuff caught my attention.

Are you saying you expect a BYU win in Pasadena!?

I have hopes and carefully nurtured, guarded dreams. But expectations!? Easy Cruiser. Don't run my heart needlessly. Tell us what you're thinking.

Post edited by: Yzzazz, at: 2007/08/10 09:15

All I can tell you is that the players fully understand what is on the line with these first two games. They talk about it in the locker room and in team meetings. They WANT these two games. They fully understand the implications of national rankings if they win---and the near certainty of missing a BCS game if they lose. The players are not only fully invested, they are fully aware and very hungry. They want to bury these PAC-10 teams. They believe. They think they are better than they are being given credit for. They believe they were better than #15 at the end of last year (or was it #20 in the BCS rankings). They are on a mission to break into the top 10 this year. That is why their practices are so much crisper and intense this year. That is why they are weeks ahead of where they were last year.

I can make no guarantees, and of course no amount of "insider" knowledge will tell me if they are going to win these games, but I find myself getting very excited by what I am seeing and hearing. If Fui's leg continues to strengthen, and if Hall can learn to use his outlets (RBs) more, I think we are going to be a VERY strong team this year. Our defense is awesome. Kehl and Nixon are making some of our very good offensive linemen look silly on some plays. The D-line is quick and smart. And, even without Gabriel (whom I loved), the defensive backs are showing a lot of savy and aggressiveness. The question, again, is our tailback and quarterback. Both are EXTREMELY talented, but Fui still needs to get more strength and confidence in his leg, and Hall, in my opinion, needs to use ALL of his receivers more often. Our offense is set up to make short but sure strides down the field. He has great ability but still seems to be a little impatient at times---and, perhaps, a little too dependent on Collie, who is extremely impressive out there. Of course, this is only their first week of fall camp, and a lot can happen before September 1st. But if these things are worked out, in my opinion we will not only win those first two games, we will be a major force in college football this year. We simply have too many weapons, too much talent, and too much desire to let the teams on our schedule beat us. We are weeks ahead of where we were last year. Things look very, very good.

If you don't have tickets yet, you might want to consider getting them.

Tickets are needed, since TV for me is not an option.
