I guess I will start the thread for this game. I am really glad that app st beat Michigan because I think that it will help a lot of teams, including BYU, to not over look other teams they will play from the lower division. The team will not be overlooking these guys.
However, I am!
No seriously though, I don't think we will have any problem at all with this one. I think this will help us a lot actually because it will keep us from getting rusty and will carry us through to the following week in San Diego.
I am looking for our D to have their first shutout and for the offense to easily play into the 40's. The only reason they may get a score is because our 3's will be in and they will get a late one. I still doubt it though.
BYU 49
EW 0
Some numbers to look at regarding the EWU game.
BYU O-line EWU O-line
319lbs 286 lbs
D-line D-line
270 lbs 249 lbs
Backers Backers
232 lbs 222 lbs
Our O-line outweighs EWU D-line by 70 pounds and their linebackers are smaller than ours.
Their O-line outweighs our D-line by only 16 pounds.
Our receivers are a little taller than theirs. our Tight ends are about the same size.
I think BYU is quite a bit quicker than EWU.
We should be able to establish anything we want with a run game, and Max Hall should have a lot of time to pass.
I say BYU 52 EWU 3
