I'm sure none of know anything about them other than their record. They are no easy team. I think I read that 6-0 Montana is #1 in their division. EWU almost beat them @ Montana. Montana scored a last minute field goal, otherwise, EWU would have knocked off a top team in their division. Logic tells you they should be a cake walk, but I don't want to hear how this game is a gimmie, because I think BYU may have to fight a little bit in this game. They should pull it off fairly easily though, mainly because they are at home. BYU's defense has been sensational at home!

You guys sound like the Michigan fans before they lost their first game. Right? I'm sure the Michigan fans felt the same as the BYU fans. This game should just be a tune up for the remainder of the season. Well, what do you know? Michigan lost! Remember, EWU has nothing to lose so they're probably planning to pull out all the stops and trick plays. Should BYU win this game? Of course they should, but Michigan should also have won their game, but they didn't.

I guess I will start the thread for this game. I am really glad that app st beat Michigan because I think that it will help a lot of teams, including BYU, to not over look other teams they will play from the lower division. The team will not be overlooking these guys.

However, I am!

No seriously though, I don't think we will have any problem at all with this one. I think this will help us a lot actually because it will keep us from getting rusty and will carry us through to the following week in San Diego.

I am looking for our D to have their first shutout and for the offense to easily play into the 40's. The only reason they may get a score is because our 3's will be in and they will get a late one. I still doubt it though.

BYU 49
EW 0

Some numbers to look at regarding the EWU game.

BYU O-line EWU O-line
319lbs 286 lbs

D-line D-line
270 lbs 249 lbs

Backers Backers
232 lbs 222 lbs

Our O-line outweighs EWU D-line by 70 pounds and their linebackers are smaller than ours.

Their O-line outweighs our D-line by only 16 pounds.

Our receivers are a little taller than theirs. our Tight ends are about the same size.

I think BYU is quite a bit quicker than EWU.

We should be able to establish anything we want with a run game, and Max Hall should have a lot of time to pass.

I say BYU 52 EWU 3

The average crowd that has attended EWU games is 8764. Those numbers are skewed by one game at Montanna state (attendance 23226)

I think a 64000 + crowd will intimidate the Eagles

We should win this game easily, but Eastern Washington is a great passing team and will be able to score some points. They are averaging over 500 yards of offense a game. I think that they will be reviewing the Tulsa game to try and do some of the same things against our secondary. Obviously Eastern Washington should not have the same success and we should be able to pressure the quarterback and cause mistakes.

BYU 49
EWU 14

Oooh, 500 yds offense against such power houses as Idaho St and Montana-Western. I mean come on guys. The players cannot overlook EW, but I am a fan and I can. They are allowing 380 offensive yards against these same power houses. Does anyone really believe that these numbers are going to translate. This is not appalachain st. (2 time Div-Iaa champs). I am going full time homer blue.

BYU 55
EWU 7 (in garbage time when we are pulling students out of the stands)
