This has to be one of my favorite sections of BYU's Press Release prior to football games. This weeks is particularly astonishing:

TALE OF THE TAPE
BYU's starting five offensive linemen weigh in at an average 318.4 pounds and average 6-feet-5. The front five will be going up against an EWU defensive front that measures an average 6-feet-1, 248 pounds. Defensively, the Cougars' front three average 6-feet-2, 270 pounds, while the Eagles' offensive line tips the scales at an average 6-feet-4, 286 pounds per man.

BYU's O-line has a 70 lbs average advantage. That is huge. The defensive line is only 16 lbs lighter on average. If Wolfey was a starter, I bet the line would weigh more on average. I almost feel sorry for them, this will be a tough, tough game for them physically.

Does anybody remember the Tulsa game? (not that we'd want to) All the players limping off the field and all that.
I can hardly imagine how EWU is gonna feel.

I have heard some people talking about how good their QB is and that they have a good offense (against lower division teams). I can guarantee you they have not face either an o-line or d-line that are as big, strong, and fast as ours. Their QB is going to be rushed all day long. He is not going to have a chance to put up big numbers like he has against other teams they have played. Our D is going to shut them down!

I remember thinking that tulsa players were getting injured at a rapid rate, until I realized that the majority of them that were "injured" walked right back onto the field the next play. Tulsa was using injuries to compensate for having used all their timeouts (They used these all early in a half so they would not have to use them on injuries). I also seem to recall that Bronco questioned officials about this tactic on the day of the game as well.

EWU may start off fresh but by mid-third quarter they will be losing any steam they come in with. I'm sure they will try to use quickness and precision to counter the size difference. But ultimately BYU is just way too big in every position, they will wear them down. Whether it's a 6'5" 250 lb TE, a 215 lb WR, or a 235 lb RB they will struggle to match the physical differences. The D and O lines should have their way.
