Phil Hendrie hasn't been on the Radio in Utah for 3 or 4 years, possibly longer. Whenever 700 switched from talk radio to sports radio is when he stopped.
I can't stand 1280 the zone, except for the Jim Rome show. But, living smack dab in the middle of provo, I don't get 1320. I used to have my alarm wake me up to 1280, but I can't stand Hans Olsen. I can't stand any sports show where they laugh at themselves more than they talk.

I just got 1320 to work on my computer at work! I'm so happy! I'm listening to fox and alema right now! haha, I love it!

They are both bad although 1320 is head and shoulders above 1280. As a Jazz fan, I enjoy their access to the team and the various interviews during the week.

That said, I'd love for there to be an all BYU station. I think the demand is there (Utah has one and there are more BYU fans). I think Reno Mahe was trying to put something together before he got re-signed. Speaking of Mahe, he seems like he'd be a great host as his weekly write-ups in the Daily Herald are usually very interesting and insightful.

This is one thing I never understood when I lived in Utah. Why is there no BYU sports radio station?? Even better from a marketing standpoint would be a BYU/Jazz station.. that would pretty much cover everyone in Utah. When 1280 first went on the air, it was clear they were trying to target BYU fans with their coverage of the Y and I think that really helped them out. I used to listen to KSL when they had that guy (I forget his name but he switched to 700) on for an hour or so a night. From what I could tell, that was a very popular show even at a bad time (I think it was on at 7). Why doesn't 1160 branch into 2 stations.. one that sticks to news and another that does purely BYU sports. The other stations would be left to fight for the 300 or so Ute fans in the area.
