Big 10 has been playing in the Rose Bowl for decades. Long before the BCS mess, when the Rose Bowl, year in and year out, was the top dog of bowl games. With 100K oeople in the stands the payouts are and have been pretty impressive. That is why they come. And you would suprised to see how many fans from those visiting teams show up.

Talk to Commissioner Delaney -- head of the Big 10. He is the single biggest proponent of the BCS system and wields a disproportionate amount of influence. It is no coincidence that Ohio State makes it to the NC nearly every year (and the BCS every year), deserving or not. OSU had one of the weakest schedules in the country and is one of the most overrated teams. They barely beat that midwest powerhouse Akron. USC, Georgia, West Virginia, Oklahoma and just about every other team in the top 15 (with the exception of Illinois and maybe Kansas) would defeat the Luckeyes.

Didn't Michigan just travel down to Orlando and beat Florida? PennState had a nice win against a surging Big12 team TexasA&M.

Don't read to much into Ohio States loss to Florida last year. Ohio didn't show up, and the Gators played their best game in 5yrs.

Illinois is a very very very good football team. They have a highly underrated defense, and this will probably be the only team that hung a loss on a healthy Ohio State team

Injuries derailed USC this season, much like they got Oregon.

USC would easily be favored in a playoff setup with all that depth.

I am having hard time following your logic on why the Big 10 is not overrated. The Michigan win over Florida was pretty impressive. I seriously doubt Ohio State is going to put LSU away let alone get out of there with even a close loss. I hate to break it to you but losing 3 of your last 4 regular season games does not make Texas A&M a surging team. Illinois didn't look like a very very very good football team against USC.
