If Bronco told him the same thing Pete at USC would say, 'If you are the best player, then you will start for the team,' then why wouldn't he come here? USC is very deep at LB and they only play 3 at a time. BYU lost 3 of 4 starters and play 4. Odds are in his favor to start early and often at BYU over USC and UCLA, which employ a 4-3.
Furthermore, it makes it more likely for Te'o to firm his commitment since he wants to play safety, not LB.
