funny name for this thread. The last time I heard the phrase "overrated" regarding a football team was when BYU came to Hawaii while they were ranked in the top 10 and got it handed to them not 5 years ago... I lost my voice as I and 50K other UH fans (that's all the stadium seats) cheered how BYU could be slammed so badly by the mediocre warriors... what was it, a 20 point deficit before the second quarter started? I only remember UH scoring over.... what was it... 70 points? And oh, the time before that instance when I remember using the term "overrated" was the day of or right after Ty Detmer won the Heisman... what was the score of that game? 56-17 or something like that? Overrated? Only team I really know overrated has been BYU.
Think of this... Colt Brennan was drunk before the Georgia game: fact. Colt is an Oxy Cotin addict: fact. Jones needed to leave hawaii and was thinking of going before the Georgia game: fact. UH sucks on the road: fact. But, think of this also... UH/UGA sugar bowl wasn't the biggest bowl deficit this year. What happened to Illinois? What happened to Arkansas? Does anyone question their "overratedness"? Georgia is arguably the best team in the nation. USC/UGA would have been a cool game to watch, but hey, a sober Colt Brennan and focused UH/ UGA would have been a fun game too. But overrated? Look to the past you cougar freaks and you will see instances of an overrated team within yourselves.
You have conveniently failed to mention all of the other matchups between BYU and Hawaii in which the Warriors/Rainbows were pummeled. Nice selective memory, trying to drag up virtually the only instance where Hawaii ever won. Hawaii is a third tier team full of classless thugs, as you clearly now have admitted with your statements about UH players who are drunk and drug addicted during the most important game in the school's history (not to mention their felony arrests and convictions). While they may have a decent season once every twenty years, that does not make them a good program. It's a sad day when your head coach considers the SMU position, a team that has not won more than 2 games in a season for the past 15 years, a step up.
The UH/UGA game was easily the most lopsided BCS game, according to all of the media experts and anyone who watched it. As you may have noticed, UGA quit trying to score in the second half. In fact, they started throwing the ball because running it was too easy and would have led to more touchdowns. UH was so outmatched that it was comical. I almost felt sorry for the Warriors, but then I remembered how their shockingly poor play would damage the reputation of all non-BCS teams, including BYU.
Hawaii fans have nothing to say on this message board.
