In two or three years, if Bronco were to leave, I think that the logical choice would be Brandon Doman. At that point Doman would be in his mid-30's and have coached with Mendenhall from the beginning of his time.

Cameron Jensen is an interesting choice. I don't know if he is interested in coaching. Another very likely possiblility, a few more years down the road is John Beck.

First let me say that I see nothing in Bronco that leads me to believe that he is going anywhere other than BYU. He wants to build a great program and I believe he will be around 10-20 years.

But now to speculate if he actually did leave...
Doman would be an interesting choice fromt eh stand point that he played with Lavell, Crowton and coached with Bronco, but he has not even been a Coordinator at this point. Bronco was a young coach when BYU hired him but he had been the D-Coordinator for a number of years as well as the Assistant Head Coach for a year.

As far as Cam or John as a replacement for Bronco I would like to seem them coach something before I will speculate.

I know that football is over and that we don't have a lot of sports to discuss but guys this is stupid!!!! Bronco has not mentioned going anywhere or even the desire to. He is very successful here at BYU. Until we have word that he is thinking about leaving let's talk about somthing else worth while. For example why our basketball team is now playing poorly VS. earlier in the season.

Thank you Phillycougar for saying a few words of logic on this incredibly stupid topic.

If Bronco were to ever leave in the next few years heaven forbid, but if he did the likely canidates would be either Mike Holgrem or Andy reed. From what I have heard they both would likely be interested.

Holmgren is not a member of the church and wouldn't get a look (even though I would love to have him) Andy Reid on the other hand would be awesome.

I suspect Bronco will be hanging around for a good while, but if he leaves, isn't that guy who coached the offense for the #1 Championship winning NCAA team this year a Mormon? What about him? He seems to move around from time to time, and we might be able to snag him if we're lucky....

The article says Holmgren is Christian and is not Mormon. He saw the job at BYU as an opportunity to share his faith with the Mormons.

Thank you for clarifying for me and for others. I had a suspicion that he wasn't and this confirmed it for me. Karma to you for doing the research.

Thus, my previous post...he would not be the HC (unless he converts)because that is a position that requires a temple recommend holding individual. All the other coaching positions do not require this.
