I was just reading how low - 82 - Rivals ranked the BYU recruiting class. Utah was at 60. Did anyone else rank it higher? Bronco will make the best of what he got, but early indications were that this recruiting class would get a little more respect.
Ironically, I had noticed years ago, after much Cougar success, Coach Edwards started to have more success in winning big name recruits, and ironically, the on-the-field results went the opposite direction. Bronco seems to have gotten back to the mold of finding players with things to offer in a team concept and winning without Nationally recognized High school superstars.
Go Cougs
Rivals is a joke. They have Akron U and Kent St. ranke ahead of them. That in and of itself is evidence of how wrong their rankings are. I can gaurantee you that neither of those schools could even compete in the MWC let alone out recruit BYU. They may get a better class once in a while to UNLV or Wyoming but that would be about it. Appl. State would probably have won it last year if they were in that conf.

1-2?
Remember, we lost the basketball player (Cameron?) who went to USC to become a Tight End...
I will be shocked if Cameron plays a down at USC. The guy is TINY! BYU football never recruited him so I will stick with 1-1
6'5" 220.

Compared to:
Atem Bol, Wide Receiver, 6-2, 200
O'Neill Chambers, Wide Receiver, 6-3, 208
Jake Murphy, Wide Receiver, 6-5, 215

Yes, but he is going to USC to play tight end. He has comparable size to play receiver, but he may not have the speed and thus went the tight end route. However, you won't see many 220 lb tight ends playing at USC. Fred Davis was there big time tight end last year and he was probably 250 or so. Maybe its just me, but there is a difference between football build and basketball build, even if the numbers are the same.

Exactly, the players you listed are all WRs. Also look at Jake Murphy - you tell me a guy that build is suited (currently) to play TE. Also, there is no way Cameron is 220. He looks like 6' 5" 205. Which is FAR FAR FAR from TE playing size.

so why not a Top5 season finish
I'll tell you why not: The BCS is about money and the Mountain West brings in next to no money compared to the ACC or Big Ten or the SEC. Another thing Hawaii didn't even make it into the top 10 let alone win their bowl game so Top 5 is outta the question imo
