I wonder how the chop blocking rule change will affect Air Force or if it will change anything at all. They may end up deciding on a rule that still allows for the way Air Force does their chop blocking...but I hope they don't.

I want the chop blocking GONE from the AF games. I am tired of cringing.
I think this is a great rule for college football. How the NCAA can allow potentially career ending blocks is beyond me.
I don't think that AF will be as affected with Calhoun as they would have been in the past, as Calhoun claims that he is moving away from the option.

I would like to see the chop-blocking cease as well. It is too dangerous and too much of an unfair advantage (because they don't get call for it but the opposition does).
While we're speaking of AF, just have to say I really like Calhoun and believe the Falcons will be tough for some time. Gotta love Chad Hall too, that kid is a gamer. Okay, that's all I can muster for praising the enemy.

Single-man Cut Blocking will still be legal.
Chop blocking (from the side or the back) will still be illegal.
Two-man Cut Blocking will now be illegal (one high, one low) regardless of tackling angle or direction.
Air Force has been better under Calhoun than Fisher at NOT doing this, but the Falcons are still among the worst in the nation at this infraction (with many not being called, especially by MWC officials).
I really LIKE the fact that the new rules make the "Horse-Collar" tackle a penalty. I also like that it should make "Spearing" or leading with the helmet easier to penalize.
