I just talked to a rep and he did confirm this. But he said that bundling the two would only cost a couple bucks a month and save my soul. Or maybe it was the other way around. I have a hard time understanding the pakistani accent.

Update on Reported DirectTV Deal
Nobody at BYU or at the Mountain West Conference office said they have heard anything about the supposed deal being reached between The Mtn. and DirectTV.
Javan Hedlund, the Mountain West Conference's Associate Commissioner for Communications, said if he or Commissioner Craig Thompson knew about a deal there would be a press release issued. Duff Tittle, BYU's Associate Athletic Director for Communications, said nobody at BYU has been contacted by anyone.
With Utah and BYU leading the charge to get the network on satellite, you would think those two schools would have been told.
San Diego State director of athletics Jeff Schemmel is apparently the only one that got the memo, or had the gumption to spill the beans on the big secret.
As more information is uncovered, we will let you know.

According to a BYU and Mountain West Conference source, the Mountain West office and there is no signed contract, and they are perplexed why Jeff Schemmel has made a public announcement when there is no signed contract.

I'm just playin', I'm really just hoping this is true, I've heard rumors of this happening, so I've been waiting to switch my dish to direct until confirmation.

I'm just hoping that, provided this pans out to fruition, that Dish Network will follow suit before mid-July. I have done DirecTV before, and I have to say that the Dish DVR is light years ahead of the DirecTV offering, and I would hate to part ways with my Dish Internet, which has simply been BLAZING. Here's hoping the deal is non-exclusive and that Dish jumps on the bandwagon.
