Scott Pierce has an interesting fact in his column today. He says that even with the DirecTV deal, the mtn will not be available in 86% of the homes in America. And that includes the "anemic cable distribution." That's right, even with DirecTV, the mtn will only be available in 14% of America's households---and that's if every household with DirecTV pays the premium to get the package with the mtn, which obviously won't happen. (It may be available on the basic package within the MWC footprint but probably not elsewhere.) Sounds like Thompson and his friends still have a lot of work to do. Here's the link:
