I was wondering if anyone knew if Markle the LB from Idaho has an offer from BYU? Also does anyone have the inside track on this kid? How interested is he in BYU? I know BSU wants this kid bad what does he think of BSU? Anyone in the know?

The only offer he has is from Washington St. at this point. Markle is LDS. He has stated he plans to play a year and then serve a mission. He took an unofficial visit to Boise St. and also attended Junior Day at the Y. During junior day, he had a private meeting with coach mendenhall. My guess is that mendenhall told him to wait things out. We are pretty stacked with linebackers and i doubt we have any more scolarships to offer LB's at this point. I think Markle would really consider playing at the Y if he gets a scolarship. Bronco most likely told him to take his time (he's a 2009 recruit) and wait to see if a scholarship opens up. Markle is listed as the #44 recruit in the west by scout.com (again, he's still only a junior). PAC 10 schools are starting to get more involved and i think it's likely BYU will try and offer him if at all possible. My gut tells me that we only have a scholarship for Manti Te'o remaining at the LB position.

Do you think the other LB's being offered will commit to BYU is that why you feel that Teo is the only remaining scholly? Also I have heard that Markle could leave on a mission before he plays because he will be old enough to leave out of high school or pretty close to being old enough is that true? If so why not sign a letter of intent with BYU then go he wouldn't take a scholly up since he wouldn't even see the field since he would leave for a mission then he could have a scholly upon returning. Its not like he would see the field anyway they likely would red shirt him his first year might as well leave come back red shirt learn the system get the mission cobwebs off and try to start 4 years.
