Angilau In Trouble Again
For someone who hasn't even played a down yet, freshman defensive lineman David Angilau continues to make news for the wrong reasons.

BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall announced today Angilau has been indefinitely suspended from the team because of a violation of team rules.

The 6-foot-1, 266-pound Angilau, from Longmont, Colo., redshirted the 2007 season.

This marks the second time Angilau has been suspended in his brief BYU career. He was one of six freshmen suspended from practice last September for breaking team rules.

That suspension involved the infamous statement from Ryan Kessman's father that his son's transgressions included drinking a vanilla cappuccino at Starbucks.

This fulfills his purpose at BYU-to remind our vets, super sophs, and incoming freshman that Mendenhall's Program is not to be messed with or tested. This is unfortunate for a possible break-through player, but he will be replaced with someone willing to GIVE EVERYTHING and be fully invested, as well as play at the HIGHEST LEVEL. GO COUGS!!!

Doesn't "indefinitely" mean "undetermined" or "not specified" and not "forever".

Forever would basically mean he has been kicked off the team. I would also like to know the specifics such as: Can he still practice with the team? Does he continue with offseason workouts? Is he still on scholarship? etc.

That's my understanding of the word, yes. Indefinite means undefined. Infinite, on the other hand, means without end.

From the TBS articles written about him while he was being recruited, I think he'll get his act together. Lots of guys on the team have gone through some adversity, even the likes of a suspension, before they really came into their own. Guys like Tialavea, Miyahira, Hooks, So'oto, Tahi, Tonga... they've all been through it and others who I can't remember too.

Still, it's always a little disturbing to hear about guys 'testing' Bronco's will. But I'm guessing it will only happen less and less. Bronco, like the Lord, is no respecter of persons. He doesn't care who you are, if you are out of line, he'll let you know. Usually through an indefinate suspension.

We make big deals out of the small news anymore just becuase there are no more Crowton era type scandals but I'm guessing this suspension, like coffeegate is not that serious. He probably just missed practice or something and until he makes up for it through community service and other hard work, he'll be "indefinately suspended".

This is one of the things that I love about Bronco. He takes practice very seriously. This is how I know the program is only going to reach higher and higher peaks.

We need someone with know-how to start printing these T-shirts.
