Will Hall pass the 4000 yard mark?--one other thing to consider, and I don't know if I'm looking at this the wrong way, is that our return game is significantly better with Collie taking kicks. He gobbles up alot of yards before Hall gets on the field making our drives shorter. One could argue that because our drives are shorter taking less time to score, that we also get the ball more and Hall has more opportunities. I don't know....
I can definately see him passing the 4000 yard mark because I think Unga is more lethal catching the ball in the middle of two line backers playing zone than he is running the football against 11 guys, and Unga will do more damage catching the ball than last year along with George playing better as well. I think we can expect a very similar year for Pitta, Reed, and Collie as they had last year.
I haven't heard anything, but I would be suprised if Collie returned kicks this year. Thats how he got hurt last year, and he is just to important to our Offense to be put in danger of returning kicks
I think it was in one of the Cruiser articles that mentioned that he had been taking reps at kick returner, and that he would be returning kicks this fall. Unless someone else can step up and take that role to the next level, you have to put Collie there. It definately has been a huge weak link in the cougars game. Last years injury may just have been from not being in 100% shape. This year the mission rust is all gone, and he is in much better shape.
That being said, I'd like there to be someone else returning kicks, just because it's not good to have all your eggs in one basket. And you don't want to wear him out by having him do too much. But thankfully, with the Bronco staff, we can rest assured that the best decision will be made!
GO COUGS!!!
