BYU gettin some national love? 5 Months ago Karma: 2
I just happened to go to ESPN's CFB home page, and there is a big picture of the cougs after the LV bowl. I haven't read the article yet but I thought it was kinda cool to see them there.

Nice article, I am worried if BYU can actually live up to the hype they are going to get next year or are they going to pull a TCU last year??? Lots of hype but only dissapointment.

If by dissapointment you mean a TCU record of 8-5, don't worry my friend, I think the world will stop turning before a Bronco team lays an egg like that. If, however, like me, you'll be dissapointed with another 11-2, close losses but no BCS bowl season, that is a possibility. Let's hope they are not blinded by the hype.

I was thinking about potential disappointment for 08. I'm pretty much counting on losing a game. If I buy into the 'quest for perfection' slogan, meaning the worldly interpretation and not the celestial, I will set my self up for a catastrophic melt down. It would be very difficult to recover from such a disappointment. In fact I can see us losing two games next year. The question is what two. Would you rather lose to Washington and UCLA or TCU and Utah or one non-conference and one conference?

I can't seem to get my head around this question, but trust me its going to happen and its going to hurt....

I would much rather not lose to anyone, but if I had to pick 2 teams to lose to this year, I would rather lose in conference than out. I would be severly heart broken though to win the first non-conference games to only lose the BCS bid to a conference loss. That would suck probably worse than not getting my hopes up at all. So maybe it would be better to lose to Washington or UCLA, but then again we need to beat those BCS snobs, but then again all the hope and hype arrrrgh my head is exploding.

Wait I have the solution, let's not lose a single game.

I really don't think TCU will present any kind of challenge. The pukes always do and what's more, it is at their place, always a tough venue for the Cougs. Really this is the only losable game in conference.

As for out of conference, the only game I'm concerned about is UW. Most think that they'll be a breeze but they have alot of talent on both sides of the ball and if they can put it together this year, they could be pretty good. Plus, it's on the road and BYU just hasn't managed to win those non-conference road games in a long long time. But UCLA I'm not concerned about at all. Arizona was a better team this year than the year before. The difference? Playing at LES we are unstoppable.

So that's two potentially losable games but I don't think it's realistic to say we'll lose them both. I reallistically predict a one-loss season and optimistically predict an undefeated season, both cases heading into the bowl game. Depending on our opponent in the bowl game, we could be 12-1 or 11-2 again. Regardless I think we are BCS bowl bound no matter what.
