I really don't understand why people think that Johnson is still a threat running the ball. He is not only slowed by a knee injury but he is also just plain fat.

edit: 1000th post woot woot!

I'd have thought a 1,000 poster would be a Senior. What does it take get you to Senior (and me, at 300+ to move off Freshman).

excellent question, I have no idea

Ya, I have seen some people that have five or six hundred posts and are seniors. That part of the system is messed up. I don't know what it really matters, but it is kind of funny.

I know Brian Johnson and really like the guy as a person, and even as an athlete. But he is not the same guy that played for the "U" as a sophmore, where he lead the nation in total offense until the injury. He shows spurts of that, but doesn't look half as confident as Mad Max is for us. He may have overall athleticism but, when it comes to plain old football smarts (required of course to WIN) he is seriously lacking, and I doubt he could've survived half the hits that Hall took this year... though I really hope those blind shots go down this fall.

Ah, edumacation at work!

No one believed Hall would do anything given his long break out of football, but to get 11 wins that first year is remarkable. That alone makes him much more impressive than Johnson.

My guess is Corbin Louks (not sure that's how you spell it) is starting by the 5th game of the season, either due to injury or him just being better than Johnson.

I'm not too sure that he can throw the ball effectively. It's too bad for them that BJ can't run and Louks can't pass. It's not like the U coaches can make any kind of adjustment and play to the athletes that they have. Then again, if the Ute receivers continue to drop the amount of passes in 08 that they did last year, it may be a moot point.

This situation kind of reminds me of the glory days of Arceneaux and Crosswhite (at least I think it was Crosswhite). Good times.
