So we just switched to DirecTV and I heard earlier this year that they picked up the MTN. Is it true or is it just rumor still?

It's true (and well-documented on places like ksl.com, deseretnews.com, etc. in case you want to read how it went down) but it hasn't happened yet. In other words, they signed an agreement, but the channel probably won't air on DirecTV until August.

Late August most likely, like August 27-30. And it may be on a sports tier.
