I wish that they would have some rockin' way to bring the team out onto the field prior to the game. For example, here at Virginia Tech, they always play the beginning part of "Enter Sandman" (from Metallica, for those who don't know), and the crowd gets ROCKING. They're jumping up and down in the stands like "pocorn popping" but it's more menacing. And the noise goes up, and it builds until the place seems like it's going to explode...which is does when the team rushes the field. It gives you goosebumps. Also, and this is the biggest benefit, it's done so well that the stadium is packed at that point. Everyone rushes to the stadium to get to their seats because they don't want to miss "Enter Sandman".

I'd love to see BYU play the opening part of a song like AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" to bring in some noise from the crowd. If you disagree, then find the track and listen to the first 30 seconds, while imagining Cougar Stadium getting pumped for the team to come out. It would rock.

Of course, this isn't something that the fans really have any control over. This would have to be instituted by the athletic department.

Agreed. A&M has some of the best tradition of any school in the country. What I have been wanting to see started is a night-before-the-game-pep-rally. I went to one in College Station once. About 15-20,000 people showed up, mostly students. Granted they have about twice as many students enrolled as BYU but we also have alot less to do one Friday nights and I think we could easily get more than just the students to come.

But essentially, the yellleaders lead the thing and they practice chears, some of the players may show up and also help to encourage the fans, and then after about a 20-30 minute rally, the lights in the stadium shut off and you're supposed to kiss your neighbor. We wouldn't have to do everything just like A&M but I think that would be alot of fun and would be a good show of support to the players. And it's almost like gameday starting the night before so the next 12-18 hours are all about preparing for the game. Who knows, maybe with that mindset preparation, we could actually get fans to show up on time to the games instead of filing in all through the first quarter.

How about every games during pre-game warmups when the bigscreen counts down to 10 minutes before kickoff, we all take off hysterically running out of the stadium jumping over walls and stuff!

Maybe we could get a local grocery chain to sponsor the pep rally... they could rotate it between locations around the valley each home game. They could get Greg Wrubel to come in and hype fans up and give some game tickets and other KSL/BYU items... there could be cheap hotdogs and a football toss... maybe a little train to ride for the kids? Maybe some other games... not only would it hype BYU but would be good for business...
I'll call my local Maceys Grocery store and see if they would have interest... it seems like a perfect fit.

ya, i was hoping nobody would bring that up-my bro and i go to almost every one but it's mainly for young kids and moms. the food is cheap/free but not good enough to get Wrubell, certainly good enough to get Doug Wright though. It's cool to win tickets, but not a fully invested thing at all.

How about we get all the fans to join in the pregame haka? Or we could make one up and call it the raka! Or have just the Ute fans do it and call it the kaka.
