The consensus overall is The Big Tuna made a great pick in Jake Long. I feel like this will do wonders for the Dolphins O-line and possibly for John Beck. It all starts with the left tackle and the run game - which should open up John Beck a lot. Bill Parcells is a smart man.

I was watching some of the draft news last night when they talked about Long and showed some footage of him in action. I must say, very impressed. He is big, very strong, and his upper body technique was superb. He doesn't move his feet very quickly (but he is a big guy after all) but he uses his arms and hands very well in locking down defenders. If I am not mistaken he only gave up 1 (or 2) sacks in two years and committed only two penalties. That's incredible! He will have an immediate impact on the O line at Miami and hopefully give Johnny B some time to do his thang. But the Phish still need to upgrade at receiver...badly. It would be nice if somehow Miami could pick up Shaun Alexander to play tandem with Brown and take pressure off Beck. But that's not likely to happen.

i think what is says is that they are not interested in matt ryan. it doesn't say that they are not going to look at a qb in later rounds. the tuna has a think for big qb's, and jo beck is not big. what the phin's do in the second or third rounds will speak to what they think about jo beck.
