No offense, but hear me out on this: a new-to-the-ward, eager-to-give-rides-to-YM/YW, 50+ yr old man? I'm sure the bishop wasn't real excited about that.

Don't worry, I'd let you give me a ride to a Bronco fireside!

As I've mentioned previously, I'm working temporarilly in the Bay Area and staying in San Jose.

Today in Priesthood Mtg they asked for volunteers to provide transportation for the YM/YW to a fireside tonight at the San Jose South Stake.

Not wanting to be a considered a slothful servant and feeling in need of some blessings, I quickly raised my hand as high as I could and offered to give up my plans for this evening and make the sacrifice of time and gas to transport some youth to the fireside.

BTW, Bronco and "one of his players" are speaking.

Oh the sacrifices one must make... ;)

My first area on my mission was in the San Jose South Stake. Loved that area. What part of the Bay Area are you in?

BTW, I heard the fireside was cancelled because Bronco couldn't make it. Not sure if that is true but if so, you saved yourself time and money.

Now I've learned the real meaning of sacrifice.

Just as I was ready to leave for the Church to meet the YM & YW, I got a call from the Bishop telling me they have enough parents available to drive so they didn't need me.

I offered to help out anyway but got turned down.

Good thing the Bishop was in a hurry and had to hang up.

My next step after pleading was gonna be begging and crying.

Wonder if groveling would have worked???

And all this time I thought the Bishop was inspired...

Haven't you heard of caller ID? You never answer a call (phone call that is) from the Bishop. Especially right before an important assignment!

Go Cougs!!!

I just moved into the ward. Don't even have my membership record transferred yet. I didn't realize the Bishop had my number.

I had dreams of learning secret inside information... Finding out the scoop about current recruiting... How we plan to contain UW's Locker... How the new pass defenders are coming along... Buckets full of Karma...

Gone!!! All gone!!! Woe is me for I am undone... :S :S :S

"..The heavenly aroma still hung in the house. But it was gone, all gone! No turkey! No turkey sandwiches! No turkey salad! No turkey gravy! Turkey Hash! Turkey a la King! Or gallons of turkey soup! Gone, ALL GONE! "

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thought that.

I guess I need to stop watching Criminal Minds...

Hey man, it's not like I'm a former Catholic Priest or something...
