Do we have to at least consider the possibility that Chambers isn't fast enough to play at Florida though?

I'm glad he has the motivation to prove Urban wrong (and guys like Jerry Rice weren't 4.3 guys either) but considering Urbans win at all costs mentality if there was enough about Chambers for him to want him, don't you think he'd have pursued him a little more?

I doubt we'll really know for a while, but at this point I'd say the verdict is still out.

The thing about Florida and Urban is that I have heard that Urban values speed more than any other single trait. He wants to be faster than the opponent at every position. So, if you want to play for Florida, above all else, you better be fast. Not just respectable, but fast. I think it very possible that Chambers could run a 4.50 and not be fast enough for a Florida
wide receiver. Considering everything else he brings to the table, like his physicality, I'll take him.

Chambers (and any receiver, for that matter), can make up a LOT from "Super Star" speed is route running. Crisp routes will give you separation every time.

So true. My favorite example of that is Eric Drage. He was totally a slow white guy. But he knew what to do to get separation - plus, once he did, he was guaranteed to catch anything he got a hand on.

For anyone who doesn't remember Drage, this is what I'm talking about. #18 - especially the 50-yard reception coming out of the endzone, where he puts on the double move... Ah, the memories...

Anyway, I think if you let Bronco coach a guy with Chambers' body and a determination to prove people wrong, and have Collie there to mentor him in his route running, that's gonna be scary good, even without the mystical SEC seal of approval on speed.

I loved watching Drage when I was little. BTW, isn't #4 in the video Chambers' HS coach, Tyler Anderson?

By the Way, bad day for Chambers yesterday at the Track event, sounds like he may have managed a small injury.
