Nunes vs. Heaps 2 Months ago Karma: 3
Just wanted to hear some opinions about these two quaterbacks.

Which one would more likely choose to go to BYU?

Who has more raw talent? (I understand there is a year of playing and maturity between the two, but all in all).

Some of us poor college students can't afford to sign up to Scout.com

And what's this about Nunes setting a date to choose which school he'll be attending?

IF you have any thoughts/info lets us know.

Thanks

I don't have a subscription either, but have learned bits and pieces about both. I think Nunes is not LDS, so normally that makes it somewhat to secure a commitment. It appears that he enjoyed his visit to BYU and according to a past article BYU was one of his top choices. However, he has been getting more offers and a lot more attention lately, so we'll see. As far as his timeline goes, see the below blog entry in the SL Trib.
http://blogs.sltrib.com/recruiting/2008/05/basketball-local-juco-stars-moving-on.htm

Heaps is LDS and I believe plans to go on a mission. So that can sometimes make it easier to secure a commitment. He is a 2010 recruit, whereas Nunes is 2009. Attention on Heaps has come a lot sooner than Nunes and appears to be from some pretty big schools (I think even USC). It think I remember hearing that Nunes has a stronger arm, but I am not sure. That's my limited info.

These are the two QBs BYU has offered so far. There is another one in Pocatello, ID named Taysom Hill who they may offer. He has BYU on his list. He is a 2009 prospect and is rated 4 stars by scout.com and is ranked 23rd in the country in the QB position. According to Scout.com, he has offers from Boise State, Arizona, Stanford and Utah.

Nunes is ranked 20 in the country. Heaps is a year behind these two.

why do i have to choose one or the other. i will take both please. nunes is not lds, so he probably won't go on a mission. heaps is, and could. the three year gap (different classes + two years) should work out just about right for everyone.

hill had a brother who signed with byu, then trasfered to asu. i've read that byu is looking at him, but i would be surprised if they offer him, and even more surprised if he accepted. it's seems clear that nunes is the first choice, and who wants to be second choice?
