quietly in Oregon dennis dixon was a hasstle, and left to play baseball for a while until coaches changed, then now qb perrilloux tested positive for drugs, i know that's not a gang rape or anything, and problems happen everywhere, but problems don't take care of themselves, nor does looking the other way. All coaches should share the weight and keep their players head's straight. I like Bronco because his assistants that aren't LDS, and players that aren't LDS really do fit in well at BYU because the system allows them to

Does this open things more for Cade now? I hope he gets a solid shot.

In Gary's defense, both quarterbacks (Dixon and Perriloux) were either at or signed with Oregon and LSU respectively well before Gary entered the picture.

They were merely pieces in place when he arrived that he had to work with.

You beat me to the punch. Gary didn't recruite Dixon or Perriloux. In fact, both of them had at least a year under their belt before Crowton showed up. Why do guys like you have to constantly knock Crowton? So Crowton wasn't a good head coach while in Provo. That doesn't make him responsible for the actions of moronic football players.

You must have been one of those guys that thought Crowton should have read all of his players a "goodnight story", tucked them into bed, and kissed them every night.

If you're going to pin the blame on Crowton for what BYU players did when Crowton was the head coach, why can't you blame Belloti or Miles for the misbehavior of players that go bad?

Agreed. Players need to shoulder 100% of the responsibility for their behavior. Quit blaming Crowton for other's failings.

I just hope the LDS kid from Harvard wins the job. Andrew Hatch is actually the guy Crowton recruited to LSU. Now that Perilloux is out of the way he should have a legitimate chance at starting for the bayou bengals.
