An observation. 4 Months ago Karma: 53
I've noticed that several on this board appear to be getting quite lax in their ways and I think it needs to be corrected before it becomes a bad habit.

I'm speaking about the recent tendency amongst some posters to correctly spell the name of that school up north. Perhaps it's the nice wins the past two years that are eliciting subconscious feelings of sympathy or something.

Regardless, there are several acceptable ways to refer to our less than esteemed competition up north, i.e. yewts, yewtah, SNOT, & etc.

Whenever you are tempted to refer to that school up north in a respectable manner, please stop to reconsider. Remember Utah is a state. Ute is a native American. Don't disrespect either by confusing them with our rivals.

Think of yourselves as guardians of a long tradition and don't give in to a momentary weakness.

I'm not sure what would cause a died in the wool, true blue, Cougarbluer to call a yewt anything other than a yewt. Let's put forth a more consecrated effort than we do with our home teaching, and make sure that this egregious error is rectified. All in favor, show by the uplifted finger, .......oops, I mean hand.

If Kryle Whittingham can call us the Cougars, I can handle calling them by their correct name (and inmate number, when applicable).

Remember KWhit probably still has minute traces of BYU DNA in his blood. Just the smallest amount can cause one to inadvertently speak respectfully of BYU at the most inopportune time.

Perhaps he might slip up sometime and shout "Go Cougars!!!" as the yewts exit the locker before the big game... I sure would love to see that on tape.

Conosticator - I only wish I had a wife with such a deep deep deep rooted sense of realism; an eternal perspective with celestial roots that go right to the spiritual core of the issue. Aaahh, that would be a paradise in itself. Alas, although I am wed to the best woman in the world, she lacks a certain intangible that you nailed right in the heart! The Pukes will never be more than Pukes, unless they can also be described as heathens, pagans, dorks, 'Tards, and all the other varied spellings that do them justice. Carry On, you great Standard Bearer. I shall ever be your humble leige.
