Most Important Pre-season Question: 2 Months ago Karma: -3
How will they rate BYU in the next installment of the NCAA football game series?

They have always been horrificly underrated (I usually buy the new one every year), and it always makes me so upset when I see the majority of players in the 60s and 70s, and maybe 1 player in the low 90s. Is this the year, since they're finally getting some recognition and a little bit of pre-season hype, that they get an honest and good rating? I know I'm not the only one who plays this game... I want your thoughts and input!

Probably not. Also, I bet Notre Dame will be incredibly highly rated despite them being horrible last year.

Well, I disagree with this being the most important preseason question, but I am curious also. I get the new years game every year and since this year, I will be leaving on my mission before the new season, its basically all the BYU football I'm going to get for the next two years.

I agree with you, they always get jipped in the ratings. This year, Hall, Unga, Pitta, Collie and Jorgenson all will probably be around 85-90. Our Offense will probably be somewhere from a B- to an B+ and our Defense will be a C-

The last game I bought was in 2004. BYU is ranked 63rd. I have been waiting for this year...because this year we are actually ranked in the pre season (somewhere between 14 and 23). I will be buying one this year to finally win a NC with BYU. I have been unsuccessful with the current players on the 2004 edition. I always end up in the Fiesta Bowl...ranked near 5 or 6. The only way I have played for a NC is by boosting up all the ratings of the key players and dominating every capacity of the games played. I call it the "BRONCO EDITION 2004."

I believe you're right. I'm not sure if you guys are talking real football or some video game but I see Notre Dames commit list and they have a lot of high rated players on their roster. If you're talking video games...I don't have a clue how you base the ratings.

The best solution is to buy the game, then edit your roster by adding 5 points to just about every player on the team. Even after that you'll still be underrated, but at least a little more realistic.

I don't remember the exact numbers, but a couple years back EA sports had Beck's arm strength as mediocre....what a joke. I bumped that number up to the mid 90's.

I wish there was a BYU logo for Master Chief's shoulder armor on Halo 3. Then my gaming experience would be complete.
