I am sick and tired of Crowton coming in and trying to steal our local recruits. Richard Wilson is the latest in a list that includes John Martinez & Xavier Su'a-filo. We could really use these boys.

This year looks to have the best talent for quite some time for Utah area recruits.

Crowton is only doing his job. Every college coach recruits in areas with which he is familiar. And with this year's apparent bumpercrop of good talent in Utah, Crowton isn't the only out of state coach after those good players. Rather than be put out at Crowton, I think we should remember that he was always a good judge of talent, so his efforts, along with those of Pete Carroll and others, just gives credibility to the fact that these players BYU is also recruiting really do have talent. Hey, if the Cougars can "steal" a good recruit from Baton Rouge, you know they would do it in a heartbeat. Nowhere is it written that local talent can only be recruited by local schools.

I think I disagree. I think it is a compliment to BYU that they are going head-to-head in recruiting battles against LSU, USC, and other powerhouse programs. Yes, BYU might lose some of these recruiting battles but they have also been getting a number of highly sought recruits. I wouldn't want BYU recruiting players that nobody was going after. That wouldn't speak too highly of the Cougars now would it?

As far as Crowton recruiting in Utah. Crowton grew up in Utah County and obviously still has connections in the area. It is a compliment to the caliber of high school players in the state that coaches from the reigning national champions would come here to recruit them. Again, it speaks highly of BYU and the types of players that they are recruiting to be going after the same players as LSU, USC, Florida, Oregon, etc.

I'd like BYU to out recruit everybody, but I can't fault other coaches for going after the same players BYU wants. Crowton shouldn't take any more heat than any other coach for recruiting players that BYU offers.

Yes, he contributed to his departure as head coach at BYU, but he was supportive of BYU when he could have succumbed to sour grapes. I'm convinced he will always love BYU, but as a coach at another university, he owes his employer his best effort.

I suggest we stop living Crowton's past and start living Bronco's future. It's bright, and growing brighter.

Wasn't learn past, live in the present, and prepare for the future President Monson's lesson last month? Somebody has been doing their home teaching.
