here's what press that are more impartial should sound like:
Questions, But Few Answers
The Riley Nelson transfer comes during a void in the sports news cycle in Utah, and is spreading like wildfire. Everyone is speculating about BYU's recruiting tactics and asking if the Cougars are being "hypocritical" by pursuing players serving missions when they have been burned in the past.
But the truth is, nobody knows the full details because nobody aside from Nelson's father is speaking. Utah State coach Brent Guy issued a release - which are never the coach's own words because who really talks like that if you read the quotes. BYU is not commenting about the situation and Nelson can't give interviews while serving in Barcelona.
So it's hard to tell what really happened and who sought out whom. Transfers happen all the time all around the country. This season alone a boatload of QBs switched schools. Obviously, Nelson's issue wasn't playing time. But it could have been the chance to play for a winning program. BYU was in need of a QB for when Max Hall departs, but not at the point of pure desperation quite yet.
The issue will soon slow down for a few weeks before fall camp begins and the coaches can't run and hide from the questions.
For one man's great opinion on the move, check out Kurt Kragthorpe's column this morning -
