so i hate to rain on your parade but you had where drafted never happens. And as i recall they had #1 pick in the NFL draft and the NBA draft in the same year and they are the only school to ever do that. Oh and Steve Smith one of the best NFL receivers is from there also. So in the NFL they have quite a few more known players than we do so as much as i like seeing the kid crying cuz we will keep beating them every year there are a few things that they have 1 up on us. And they did just go undeafeated in 04 to win the fiesta bowl and killed us that year. The only reason i bring any of this up is because we make fun of the Utes for every little thing they do but most people on here find it ridiculous when they do the same to us.
I'm with draider on this one. I have no problem poking fun at the utes in truth but when fun is poked in lies that BYU frankly cannot back any better, then I'm a touch embarassed by the steotypes that soon follow.

I think you guys need to watch it again. Pause on what it says. "Where no players drafted happens". The context that is used refers to it happening in a particular year such as this past season when no Utah players were drafted. It did not say "where no players are ever drafted" or "where drafted never happens". So there was no lie. You guys just misunderstood.
As for the U's impressive #1 picks, all I have heard from analysts are that they both were busts. I personally think the Y has had more productive players through the years in the NFL than the U. Names like Vai Sikahema, Kurt Goveia, Steve Young, Jim McMahon, Itula Mili, Aaron Francisco, Hoke, the Denneys, Brady Poppenga, Rob Morris, to name a few. Heck last year the Stealers front three at times were all from BYU (Hoke, Keisel, and Nua). I would be hard pressed to say that Utah has one upped BYU when it comes to productive NFL players.
I see your side of it and no they cant beat us in NFL production over the years IMO. We have Steve Young with super bowls. Ty Detmer didnt have good #'s but lasted a very long time. The one up they have on us right now is Steve Smith that guy is amazing he just wasnt like that at the U. But they did also have the Dyson Bro's which both had very good seasons, Scott Mitchell who had a few good years, Jordan Gross is a very good T the Kemoeatu bros. And i took the video the way you said i did which in that case i was wrong and apologize to the maker but im one to look at facts, stats and realistic views as oppose to outright dislike. And it was a good put together video i just happened to not agree with it how i took it.

I was surprised that Utah even has an NFL hall of famer. For good or bad I think the maker was trying to say that KWitt may have started a trend in which players have a higher likelyhood of not being drafted if they go to the U over the Y. Kind of a way to say come to the Y not the U. I for one think ANY LDS being drafted is good for the exposure part. Too bad the games are on Sunday. I don't hate the U because many of the relatives of my friends have played there and it offers many LDS players a chance at a scholie and an education. I was not raised in Utah so I wasn't exposed to the U v Y rivalry. All in all I would love to see the U and the Y both undefeated until the last game with the Y winning every time of course. I am an LDS homer first and really want to see all LDS players succeed. Having said that however, I do have some problems with the U. It seems to be the rallying point for all anti-lds fans in Utah, and gives them the venue to persecute or defame the church. I suppose that is why they don't sellout like the Y does. Many of the "fans" are only in it to attack the church. Talk about a bandwagon! Anyways, I hope all our LDS brethern in the NFL shine and prosper.

As much as I love FB, and wish I could see Beck and all the others play every week, I too feel unhappy that they sacrifice so much of their values to play a game or work on the sabbath. I try very hard not to watch any games on Sunday, and wish they would hold them on the other 6 days. But I still love the game and follow it with VCRs.

That's because lots of LDS people don't consider NFL football to be a career that justifies "breaking the Sabbath." I break the Sabbath all the time because in the military sometimes I have to fly on Sunday. Firemen and cops all work on Sunday and are looked up to. I guess that careers that provide entertainment as it's end product aren't as "Sabbath worthy" as careers that appear to provide some sort of service to the community. If Latter-Day Saints only chose careers that "honored the Sabbath" there wouldn't be very many LDS engaged in the world at large.

Good point and I have wondered about it before. There are many high profile careers that are not "ox in mire" type jobs, and yet are sought after by LDS. Big question. Really need to carefully consider who we worship first.

Its a personal decision. I don't think it is part of Mormonism to judge how others live their religion. Of at least that seems to have been the message from the New Testament.
