The illegals with free health care don't bother me any more than the legal citizens taking advantage of welfare and unemployment checks without looking for work.

Coach Hill said he has head coaching aspirations, and unfortunately he's not going to be able to fulfill them here. With the quality of his defense, it's only a matter of time until he goes somewhere where he can go all the way to the top.

My Hope is that Coach Hill sticks around for a LONG time, but it is not likely at all. I knew after his first season with BYU that Bronco had made a great hire... and now... well. I am glad to have him as long as possible... hopefully he will not want to disrupt his family with a move, so stick around Provo for the long haul... but like I said... that isn't likely...

I don't recall him ever saying that he had "head coach aspirations". I mean, what coach ultimately wouldn't want to be running their own program? But still, I don't remember him ever expressing that to any Utah media at least.

What I do recall him saying is that he's looking to stay in one place for awhile and that he loves his job, the people he works with, and that his family is happy. I think as some have stated that giving him the DC job was just a way of not giving him a reason to go elsewhere. He wouldn't have gotten a HC job for a few more years anyway so why does he need to go elsewhere when he's happy here?

No, I think we'll see him in Provo for a little while longer yet. The coaching profession at this level is so fluid anyway that you won't see many guys stay in the same position/town long anyway. But I would hazard to guess that Jaime will be here for at least another 3-4 years until his daughters get a little older. By that point he will have established one of the best defenses in the country year in and year out and other schools will be practically knocking down his door to offer him boatloads of money and titles to get him to leave Provo.

I actually don't think we'll see a coaching change for at least another few years. In my opinion, the most likely candidates besides Hill are Anae and Reynolds and with both having sons in the program I don't see them leaving for awhile. Doman may be offered another QB coach job but I doubt he'd leave Provo for another. Not only does he have some of the best recruits in the country to work with the next half decade years but I think he's a BYU guy through and through ad is totally loyal to Bronco.

I give up. I am so so so so so so so sorry that some whites (although nobody that I know that I might be related to) owned slaves, and I feel so so so so so so bad! Even though most of the slaves were sold to whites by blacks and that today the largest owners of slaves are black whereas it is whites that are attempting to free those slaves. Unfortunately, those whites (motivated by misguided compassion) have actually perpetuated the industry and caused it to be created in other areas of Africa. Africans have discovered that these "compassionate" groups will buy their slaves so that they can be freed. Well, as soon as they sell all their slaves, they go out and raid more tribes to get more slaves so they can sell them to these groups.

When my family moved to Hawaii we had next to nothing. We slept on towels for beds for two weeks until we could get bedding (surplus military bunk beds). Our only car was stolen a couple of months after moving there and we shopped goodwill regularly for clothing. We ate a lot of rice and very little meat. But we were happy and we did fine because our parents taught us about hard work. My dad worked full time in Honolulu and went to trade school at night for several years to learn how to fix tv's while my mom had two part time jobs, one cleaning rooms in a hotel and the other stocking shelves at a small corner store. Me and all my brothers went to college. We all paid our own way and two of us have graduated. Half way through college I got married to a freshman. I paid for my schooling and for four years of her schooling. I now own a 4000+ sq ft home, I drive an Inifinity, and my wife drives an Odyssey. So I ask, what do I have to feel guilty about? What advantage did I have that minorities did not have. The advantage I had was that I didn't have any government programs telling me that they would do everything for me because I was oppressed. Or that I didn't have to do better than everyone else to be the best in class or in my career. I had to earn everything I got and now have. I feel no guilt. I have not doubt that if I were black, I would have achieved the same level of success.

Beautiful story and the epitomy of the "American Dream." Likewise I grew up in a poor household but through military service and skills learned on the mission was able to get out of BYU debt free. I am still paying for law school, but I am a firm believer that there is no excuse for anyone to say they could not get an education in this country. If you can't serve in the military, you certainly can take student loans, or work full time during the summers and part time during the school year to get an education. Its about will power, not race. I love this country!
