I've seen arguments both for and against leaving the conference, I believe that if there is a plan to make ends meet as an independent then we should go for it. Wouldn't you love being able to stand on our own merit and not be pulled down by the bottom dwellers of the conference? With a 22-4 record over the last two seasons I think we would command a lot more respect nationally without the MWC tie-in. It hurts even worse when national media get the conference wrong and label us in the WAC or MAC.

Yes, scheduling might be more difficult, but the pros far out way the cons to me.

it wouldn't take long to acclimate to the pac-12 or big-12...after a couple to a few seasons i'm sure BYU would start picking up quckly...it'd be amazing...but of course I am just a student of the game, not a business money hungry man. So i don't understand

I've spent my entire life working in Television, about a third of it in sports... and to be honest I was surprised that the MTN wasn't worse... if that counts for anything. I was expecting a version of SportsWest spread out way too thin, and thank the heavens it wasn't.
It's heading in a pretty good direction in my opinion. The games need help camera wise (especially game camera's that would actually follow the ball), but play-by-play dude, Bates, is growing on me. He's not Rain-man with BYU statistics like Wruebell, but he isn't that bad, and does his homework. Maybe I'm just optimistic because I expected a lot worse. Now if they could afford to go HD, I'd be in heavan... I'd probably have the same cameramen looking at the girls in the stands instead of the game... but it'd sure be pretty.
If they get more money, I think it'll get better, and adding Dish brings viewers, and advertising money... I hope they spend it well.
