What is the highest pre-season rank BYU has ever received in major polls?
Go Cougs!
I would guess 1985, but they may have been higher some other time...
The Oklahoma Sooners, who were ready to claim The Associated Press' 1984 national college football championship had they beaten Washington in the Orange Bowl, are the pre-season choice to win it all in 1985, while defending champion Brigham Young just made the Top Ten. In wide-open balloting, with 10 of the 105 Division I-A teams receiving at least one first-place vote, Oklahoma outdistanced Auburn, last year's pre- season pick in the AP poll, which began in 1936.

After opening up with Northern Iowa, the Cougars will take a step up in class when they travel to Seattle to take on Washington. Win that one and their next game versus UCLA and BYU will be in position to be this years version of Hawaii from 2007.

That kind of insult is uncalled for.
And what's up with the helmet/logo from the crowton days?
