Dad??? [/quote]
Except the Poopline hates BYU and would never let his son come here. Plus, the true offspring of Poopline could never be intelligent enough to get into the Y.

Manti chose to attend only 2 camps this summer......BYU and the All Poly - both in Utah.
I was wondering if Manti has already attended the BYU camp or is that yet to come? if so does anyone know when the camp is?....I would not be suprised if Manti used the chance to commit to Bronco face to face.

He was already here. Read the front page of this site titled "in search of Manti"
As for Jray and lineage. His dad was super talented. And all his uncles were very athletic starring in both football and another sport (basketball or wrestling). They just never had the direction (mentoring) needed to point them toward college. There have been a lot of super athletes at Kahuku but the coaches never bothered to hype them to colleges or recruiters. It was too bad because players like Corona Ngatuvai, Frank Kalama, David Stant, Everst Aalona, all the Santiagos (Manti's uncles), Kirk Akina, George Akina, Ken Smith, the Wiley's (Al, Sikeli, and Iaisa), Elliot Mauia, would all have been at least three or four star athletes if coaches had been more invested in getting colleges and recruiters to pay attention. These are just a few off the top of my head from my years at Kahuku.

i think you are thinking about the byu padded camp which has already taking place. the non-padded camp is going on right now, and i think the last day is today. they do alot of postion coaching, and have a 7v7 tourny to wrap it up.
i know manti was just at the poly camp (which was at the end of last week), which was a padded camp, and i think the byu camp he was going to attend was the non-padded byu camp, but i could be wrong.
i do know that every offensive player at the poly camp knew where manti was at all times. from what i understand, none of them wanted to take a hit from him.

With all the talks of Manti Te'o who is the best player that will come out of Hawaii in 2009, I just wanted to let you Cougar Fans know how fortunate you are to have Jray Galeai fully committed to becoming a Cougar.
Last year Jray Galeai played qb and has yet to play a full complete game as a defensive back at Kahuku, infact during his tenure at Timpview he mostly played outside linebacker and occasionally as a safety.
Then why did Bronco offer him a full ride to BYU? Well that's because he's the most talented all around athlete to come out of Hawaii in years. Not only is he the best basketball player in the State of Hawaii but he can play any skilled position on the football field which is why every BIG-12, PAC-10, MWC, and WAC school is drooling and beggin for his services. Jray will remind you Cougar Fans of Aaron Francisco, humble, smooth & aggressive with a little more talent. He can come in and start as a freshmen but will opt to go on a mission prior to dawning the Blue & White. So on letter of intent day when things don't go as you wish with Manti, just know that you already have someone who is equal his talent and will be a name that you'll remember and never forget, JRAY GALEAI!
I have to be honest, as I scour the internet for clips of our recruits to pass this slow offseason, I cannot find anything on the dude. I have heard things similar to what you have said about him, but wish I could see some of this athletic ability.
Thanks for the head's up anyhow. Oh, and by the way, I am able to sound out most polynesian names and whatnot as a result of several good poly friends' patience over the years, but how exactly do you pronounce this kid's first name? Is it "Dray" (like Dr. Dre) or some other variation?
Anyway, thanks again for the post and thanks in advance for the phonics lesson...cheers.
it is pronounced just like "dr dre", but with a pronounced "j" instead of a hard "d". it's sometimes hard to hear the difference, but it's there. from what i understand, it is a variation of ray jr, but with the j put first. it that's true, i think it's pretty original.
my confusion has more to do with the last name. i have heard it pronounced several different ways, but rarely do i hear the "e" after the "l", or the "i" at the end of the name pronounced. i was always told to pronounce every vowel, given the phonetic spelling.
