Is it just me or am I missing something...Doesn't this just scream that he is only interested in BYU? What am I missing here?
If every college in the world wants this kid and he has only gone to 1 schools camp, that being BYU isn't that clear.
OR
is that he has already chosen USC and just wanted to be sure there wasn't something at BYU he may be missing.
I wonder why this hasn't been talked about more explicitly in our threads, I have seen it mentioned but it seems odd to me.
What am I missing here?

I would love to have the dude on our team (like any cougar fan) but I personally think that your second scenario is more the case than the first you proposed...just my gut feeling...the same one that thought U Kaveinga was gonna be a Cougar as well, so take it with a grain of salt.

Almost like a guy who, before getting engaged, goes out with that really nice girl who his family loves, just to make sure that he wants to marry the girl he bought a ring for. Yeah, that would suck. I think in a way, BYU might be the sweet spirit that is the best girl and will be the best wife and mother but may be lacking a little in looks (BCS stars) whereas USC is the hotty with some personality but will probably max your credit cards before you graduate. I think this analogy has been used before, or maybe for once I came up with an original analogy.
Nevertheless, if we don't get him I think we will be fine, one person does not a team make, albeit he may draw a few more good recruits just because of his fame.

Great analogy...new or otherwise.

I think the aura of Manti has overshadowed what looks to be a very talented group of recruits headed our way.

Like I said, I would love to have him here, but it will not ruin our program if he doesn't come here.

I am going to go on record and say that I think Manti picks BYU. I think we are all a little leery of getting bucked off like we did with Kaveinga. I don't know Manti but everything I have heard about him tells me he is no Kaveinga. I get the impression that his priorities are different from Kaveinga's and that he is much more mature than Kaveinga. I may be way off base but I think that Manti is a Cougar.

I don't think you're missing a whole lot. The Teo family alone is a very spiritual upright group; I can't imagine that they don't see eye to eye with Bronco.

However, imagine the pressure when you're the top player in the country.... USC has to be tempting but in the end, we're going to get our guy. The Teo family is going to be BYU through and through.
