(1) Who do you think will be the surprise BYU player on offense and defense this year - the player that is not there now but will end up on the MWC first team at the end of the 2008 season?

(2) Who do you think will win the Heisman Trophy in 2008?

(2) Do you think BYU will rush more than it will pass (for the year's average) this year?

1. I'm not sure if anyone will end up on 1st team that we don't expect to. But I'd guess one of our young recievers, hafoka or ashworth

2. Heisman? I don't know how you could vote against Tim Tebow.

3. Rushing vs Passing yards. Passing, no question. I wonder what the stats are of how many teams in history actually rush for more than they pass. BYU's recieving corp is SOOOOO talented and so deep. I wouldn't be suprised if Unga had 1,500 yards, assume Fui has 800 and then Latu/ De Luigi (sp?) and those guys have 300. thats 2,600 Hall will pass for 4,000 yards. not close

#1 Fui I know his talent won't suprise many but now playing at FB a position that gets him through the line faster will make him even more deadly IMO. However that won't get him First team All-MWC honors look at Unga last year he wasn't first team even with the All purpose YD record he set and freshman RB record what more would you need to do?

#2 I would have said Tebow if he hadn't last year this year it opens things up for many possibilities.

#3 No

i'll only answer the 3rd question. Both rushing and receiving will be a gold mine of success for BYU. If both position play can be fumble free we'll go undefeated! They are both deep and each player contributes a style unseen together in most teams. I expect a balanced attack leaning to passes. Also, i could argue Anae may be more reserved after a lead to ensure precise play, a quest is on the line folks

(2) Who do you think will win the Heisman Trophy in 2008? WHO CARES

(2) Do you think BYU will rush more than it will pass (for the year's average) this year? THEY WILL PASS MORE

I would expect at least 6500 yards of offense for the 2008 season. That's only 626 yards more than last sesaon's 5874 but would puts us at exactly 500 yards a game, which only 6 teams accomplished last year: Tulsa, Texas Tech, Hawaii, Houston, Missouri and Louisville.

I could see the breakdown on the 500 yards a game looking like this:

Passing: 345 yards, 3 TDs
Rushing: 155 yards, 2 TDs

Further, by player, I would expect to see the individual season stats look like this:

Hall: 4350 yards passing, 25 yards rushing (included in the other RBs count), 35 TDs
Other QBs: 150 yards passing, 0 TDs
Unga: 1200 yards rushing, 500 yards receiving, 14 TDs (rush), 5 TDs (rec.)
Vakapuna: 600 yards rushing, 100 yards receiving, 8 TDs (rush), 0 TDs (rec.)
Other RBs: 150 yards rushing, 50 yards receiving, 3 TDs
Collie: 1100 yards receiving, 10 TDs
Reed: 850 yards receiving, 7 TDs
Pitta: 850 yards receiving, 8 TDs
George: 350 yards receiving, 2 TDs
Other WR/TEs: 750 yards receiving, 3 TDs

Things could be even better if we take care of the football next year. Like if we had only 8 fumbles (lost) and 6 interceptions, I don't see how we'd have less than 550 yards a game.
