The conference schedule cannot and will not help. But if BYU destroys UW and UCLA (Big ifs), then BYU might find itself in the top ten in September. From there it's a matter of not losing and needing a bit of luck from the teams in front of us. Winning on the road at TCU and Yewtah should be good for a couple of places as well.
Not likely to happen, but wouldn't it be fun to watch the BCS squirm if only BYU and one other BCS team were undefeated on Dec. 1. Nice to dream...

Bribe every pollster in the human polls 2 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: -8
it ain't gonna happen. Not with the lack of game exposure and the likes of AFA, WYO, SDSU, and UNLV on the schedule. To most people those are no different than playing Div 1AA teams. We know that's not true, but some years, UNLV has been close.

I'm not sure your asking the right question. All BYU can do is go undefeated, blowing out most every team. Other than that, there is NOTHING they can do. There would have to be a year like last year with upset after upset, where the top 5 is changing every week.

I agree and I would also say that everyone we play would need to have an outstanding year after loosing to us. Wouldn't it be great if Wash and UCLA battled for the PAC 10 championship and one of them made the BCS and TCU and UTAH only had one or two losses. If all 4 of them were ranked at the end of the season and we were undefeated. I know that's a lot of what if's, but one can only wonder about the boost that would give us!

Go Cougs!

Check out WA and UCLA's schedules. I'm sure both are top 5. Since we're talking big "what if's"...What if one of these teams only had one loss (to BYU) and BYU was undefeated. Which team would be ranked higher?!?

In most years, they (UCLA or WA) would deserve a trip to the NC. That would shakes things up, wouldn't it?

On another note, because of their schedules, I think their records won't look very good. Not good for BYU whether the cougs win or lose to them.

BYU on for their part would have to go undefeated and probably blow everyone out. On the part of football, BYU would need every other BCS team except one, to lose a minimum of three games. All the teams ahead of BYU now in the polls would have to lose three games so they dropped below them. It would also help if UCLA or WA won the PAC-10, if MICH won the BIG Televen (and got beat badly by Utah), if TCU beating OK, etc. An aweful lot of if's.

Exactly, and although one of those if's might occur the others are unlikely, epecially all in the same season. It is fun to dream though, because if BYU were to win the N.C. BCS game it would be hard to keep us out of the top spots next season because we don't loose anybody really after this season.
