Just so everyone is aware, Heaps and Fehoko are members of the class of 2010. But I sure hope we land them, becuase they could anchor one heck of a recruiting class.
Honestly guyz, VJ Fehoko is "NEEDS LOTS OF WORK." I've been involved with high school football in Hawaii for the past 30+ years and I've seen better players who because of their inability to market themselves go nowhere after high school. Fehoko's family does a great job in marketing him which is why he gets all lots of publicity. Fehoko claims to have official offers from UCLA, BOISE ST, COLORADO ST, TEXAS TECH, BYU & UTAH but I don't seem to recall anyone posting it here on cougarblue or any of the other schools website/message board.
VJ is 5'10 220 pounds and plays defensive end. He will never play DE in college cause he's to short. If he does try to make the transition to linebacker he will need to do a whole lot of catching up which will be very costly to him as well as the program he will play for. His brother Sam was a DE also and the Gatorade Player of the year but when he went to Texas Tech he had to switch to linebacker because of his height and is now 3rd or 4th on the depth chart. Im not doubting VJ's ablity to succeed but I will say this "as of this point I wouldn't offer him a scholarship because his numbers don't add up to what a real D-1 college DE should be," and which is why I have my doubts about his offers. "BUT HEY, I COULD BE WRONG SO PROVE ME WRONG!
