found this article that's supposed to be about Chow, but discusses many things about BYU, even crowton down towards the end.

also note, at the bottom a fan has predicted an 8th ranking for BYU, he may be a Y fan, but if he's a pac-10,ucla fan that's surprising

The ranking from that fan was actually 7th for BYU. He is a Detroit Pistons/Red Wings/Tigers fan and in college a Clemson fan, thus Clemson has a 6th ranking in his predictions. So no, he is not a Bruin or Cougar with goggles.

So I've been offline for a week, but saw this article today and looked through the board to see if anyone had started a thread on it.

I was surprised to see that the article said that Coach Chow was Mormon. Is this actually true or was the author just assuming something b/c Norm had coached at BYU? If it is true, does anyone know when he converted? My understanding was that he was not LDS during his entire tenure at BYU--which was part of the reason he didn't get the HC job after Lavell--and I assumed that after that snub he would be pretty put off by the church. Anyone know the back story?

It is my understanding that Chow has always been LDS.

He is in fact LDS. His son was in my girlfiend's ward growing up.
