It has been a really long time since I posted anything on this site. After watching a recording of the game, I was pretty frustrated. We now have 2 losses that we had numerous opportunities to record as wins.
On the other hand, tomorrow is a new day, and a new game is waiting next weekend. For all of the so-called realists on this site, I find it interesting that the major focus of your arguments seems to be how BYU just can't get it done and will be resigned to choke status for the rest of forever. Being realists, I would think that you would see the team and program in the situation they are really in--rebuilding.
Several of you have talked about how LaVell did this and LaVell did that and nobody can do what LaVell did. True, no one will be Lavell. Should they be? I think they would betray themselves if that was their focus.
I think Bronco deserves some time to work through his strategy. I think he is on the right track, and I believe he will get the job done. Days like today are frustrating, but I don't think they are evidence of a fatal flaw of some kind. Next week will be a new game and another opportunity to win. There are things for the team to learn from the loss today, and hopefully we will see improvement next week. For starters, the snapping needs some serious attention. That being said, I have seen continuous improvement ever since Bronco took over the head coaching job. If he can continue to make this happen the results can only get better, too.
I suppose the realists are entitled to think what they want about things, and it would be silly for me to sit here and say the team doesn't have things to work on. I don't think the place to start, however, is by crying about how we will never be great. I don't find "see I told you we suck" posts productive, either. You people are the type I hate to watch games with. If you are so tortured and soured by what you are watching, do yourselves a favor and just stop paying attention!
