For me, the worst cheer has got to be "overrated...clap clap clap"

Do these college students comprehend what they are saying? They are minimalizing their own team's accomplishments by coming up with excuses for the opponents loss. If anything, you want the opponent to be highly rated so you look good by comparison. I always thought "underrated" would be a better cheer.

I wholeheartedly agree. I have never understood the overrated chant. It really is like saying, WOW, you guys are so bad you got beat by US!

I hate when people stand up and make a lot of noise. It gets really distracting when I'm trying to talk to my date. It's like I wore the pink polo for nothing!

These are the people they need a cheer for!
When I went to the BYU-Mich St game last year in Detroit I got a lot of looks (from the BYU fans no less) like "hey just shutup and sitdown. The guys right behind me (3 beer drinking MSU beer gut fans in red wings jerseys were really cool about it. They laughed and we had a great time making fun of each other's teams etc. But a lot of the BYU fans there were sitting on their hands as if they were hoping nobody would notice them. I know Detroit is scary but at least show a little spirit! Something real funny was the BYU fans in front of us moved to some open seats at the other end of their row at halftime. And it wasn't as if we were shouting anything obnoxious. Just cheering for the players. I'm just glad the "detroit drunks" showed up because they made it a lot of fun. They were real respectful to the players and church too. Pretty cool guys.

That drives me absoulutely insane. The guy can shoot an airball one minute into the game and then go for 50 and with 2 minutes to go people will still be yelling "Airball" evrytime he touches it. Its ridiculous!! Get on the guy for a few possesions and then move on!!

Agreed. I mean if it's really making a difference in the way he plays then by all means keep on yelling "air ball", but in most cases the next time down the guys makes a shot. Other than that it just gets annoying and it just sounds like a bunch of jiberish, especially when the guy touches the ball for one second before passing it.
