A+M has underperformed all season (they were top 15 to start the season)-it's not the worst 1st round matchup ever but they have a lot of talent.
Could be worse, west virginia at 7 got 10 arizona. The real punishment isn't having to play A+M, it's being forced into playing UCLA in Cali if we manage to win the 1st.
As long as the tournament champion gets the automatic NCAA bid--winning the conference is not going to mean much--if anything. If BYU had won the conference with say a 20-10 record, they would not even be in the tournament. I don't like the idea of the conf tournament champion getting the automatic bid, it totally disses the conference play. The conference play means way more and is a better indication of the quality of the team. Getting hot and winning a couple of games in the tournament doesn't really tell you much.
Uhhh. this is gonna be tough. I've seen them play and they're a talented team. Remember, this is the same team that upset 2-seeded texas. But at least its gonna be close to home.
