Because the MWC has a "contract" (an 9-letter word that sounds like a 4-letter one when it comes in the same sentence with the name "MWC" through 2010, nothing new about the location will happen before then.

I took my sweet 14 week pregnant wife down to see Phantom of the Opera and we were able to catch the the Friday games. Up where we were there was a bunch of UNLV fans that were there just to cheer against BYU and Utahns in general (that includes Mormons). Now, I'm no 5'11" girl (6'2" 235 lbs) and I definately don't look soft (I've been working out with the Army), but there were a couple of times that I was worried that I was going to be going to jail. CLASSLESS is a good way to describe many of the UNLV fans. My wife says that she will never go to another game down there. I'd love to go again with a few of my Tongan buddies, but that wouldn't be very Christ-like.

I kinda wish I had been there to experience all this. Although I, like UliUli79, would probably have gone to jail cuz I wouldn't be puttin up with it. I believe individuals are ultimately for their own actions but at some point you have to think the MWC would demand that something be done to clean up the atmosphere a bit (more ushers, more law enforcement...).

There is a point when friendly banter becomes digusting slander. The UNLV fans went WAAAAY past that point.

As annoying as their Reee-BELS/airball/firstdown crap is, good on 'em for making up a chant that really gets on everyones nerves. They even have the right to not quite understand basketball and expload when ANY call is against them. I'll even go as far as to say they can even drink their disgusting beers and puke all over the stairwell if they want (true story).

The problem I get is when they are telling all the BYU fans to F-off because they're Mormons (not just the regular FU-BYU junk), to have complete strangers in my face with their stinky alcho-breath and grab my hands to stop clapping when we make a good shot, and to be physically pushed out of the arena and YELLED at to "GO HOME, GET THE F--- OUT STUPID MORMONS, GET OUT OF OUR STADIUM LOSERS" among other things when we lose the game. (It's not like I'm some big loud burely biker guy...I'm a 4'11" girl!)

They were worse than Utes and Cowboys combined on Saturday! At least those hooligans have the whole personal space thing going on and will usually shut up if they win/lose save for a few comments under their breath or behind your back. Even when they do yell something awful, they usually have a friend holding them back...I wouldn't say it's the WHOLE FRIGGIN' STADIUM doing it.

The thing that gets me the most is BYU IS THE BIGGEST REASON THE MWC GOES TO UNLV FOR THE TOURNEY! If they didn't have half of utah coming down, there is NO WAY they'd do it there. For the love do your stupid chants, but don't be nasty and rude to the fans that are just trying to watch their team.

The UNLV fans are CLASSLESS.

BYU fans need to petition together to STAY HOME until we move it to Arizona!!

Dang, where's Terrance and Vic when ya need 'em? Sorry you had to endure that kind of garbage. Even though a stranger, I would have blown up had I seen them doing this! Considering how many b-ball games I've been ejected from for retaliating with morons, the chances of avoiding physical confrontation would have been pretty slim. Maybe it's just me, but I believe folks like this really need a good @$$-kicking and it should be covered under the law.

What needs to happen is a group of BYU fans file a suit against UNLV and the MWC. The UNLV fans' actions, slurs and overall behavior can be classified as a hate crime against a particular religous group. UNLV is at fault since it's their facility and the MWC is at fault since they sponsor the event, had inadequate security and failed to control the situation putting BYU fans at physical and emotional risk.

There are plenty of LDS attorneys out there. Problem is, we're just too nice.

Honestly, fans should simply boycott the tournament. They moved the Denver one because no one showed up, so don't show up next year. If Utah and BYU fans don't show up next year the stadium will sit half empty, all the hotels will complain and the buffet restaurants as well as In 'n Out will suffer. UNLV can't fill the stadium on their own.

We should all send emails into the MWC complaining about the venue and how we won't be there next year, how we now can't sleep at night because of the horrific experience, and how the risk of injury is to great. Intead, we'll happily watch it on DirectTV in the safe, secure comforts of our homes.

No, Slugger....you were better here. I saw people getting in tustles with unlv fans behind the BYU band and thought it'd dissipate, but as I walked from the upper balcony into the concourse....not even 20 seconds later, those SAME people carried their scuffle into the concourse and there- there were fists flying and people shoving and pushing each other into the walls, and onto the ground. It basically looked like out of control choas in a small section of the halls in the T & M Center, involving around 5-10 fans, mainly because of dumb unlv fans totally rubbing in their victory to the fans in blue. All they had to do was enjoy their win and leave, but no- they of course went beyond that.
