I'm just really frustrated that a really good BYU team plays so poorly in the tourney. We played much better against UConn, Syracuse, and Xavier. Regardless of seed, it is really ridiculous that we didn't pull this out.
And I lay no blame on the committee, refs or anybody except the players. They just didn't come out to play (n play physical ALL game long). Did anybody else think the team looked winded in the FIRST half?!? I'll add physical conditioning to the list of items to work on. You can do it next year guys! But you will have to earn it through hard work.
Free-throws, rebounding and mental toughness. That is what I hope they work on all summer long. Otherwise it will be the same old disappointment next year.
Exactly. Does coach Omer do strength and conditioning for bball? If not, he should start.....tomorrow.
I think the coaching can be blamed a little as well. They need to get a shooting coach to work with the players from the FT line. Also, at the end of the first half, they should have had a shooter down the floor instead of Miles. Also, Cummard should have been guarding the shooter, not Tavernari.
As good a coach Rose is, one of his major faults is making adjustments during a game. He needs to get better at that. Not much was done to free up Cummard.
