Does anyone besides me see this as a sign that the BCS is screwing up college basketball too. This is the first time in the history of the 64 team bracket. Yes, they probably are the best teams, but why? The parity in sports is being stripped away. The BCS money is now making it so the rich are getting richer even in basketball. There may come a day soon when we no longer get to see a 4 seeded Arizona knock off all 4 1 seeds to win the championship. Some see that as the way it should be, I see it as boring.
Is this a serious post?
Memphis makes the Final Four and they are a nonBCS team. NonBCS teams making the Final Four have never been a regular occurance in the current NCAA tournament format. In fact, if you look it up you will see that nonBCS teams are actually having more success than in the pre BCS days in advancing deep into the tournament. For example there have been more occurances of NonBCS teams advancing to the elite 8 over the last 10 years than the 10 years previous to the BCS.
The BCS pertains to the college football postseason and has little to do with anything else.
