Question for Jazz fans. I'm a sonics fan, but I live in the Utah area so I know a little bit about what goes on with the jazz, and as I've been watching the game I have a curious question.

Where do you think Morris Almond will fit onto this team? The guy was the scoring leader in the D-league so I've gotta think he has some sort of future in the NBA, seems like he might even be able to contribute next year. Brewer and Miles both seem to be playing well though so there doesn't seem to be much room for another 2 guard. What do you guys think?

My understanding is that this is the last year of C.J.'s contract (http://hoopshype.com/salaries/utah.htm). He was a restricted free agent last year, but no one took him and he didn't play in the Rocky Mountain Review, which irked some jazz brass. I'm sure Brewer, Miles, and Almond will battle this summer, and then we'll see how the review goes. If C.J. doesn't show up, they probably won't give him a contract and will let Almond take it. The only problem is that Matt Harpring is getting old, and C.J. plays pretty well at the 3 spot, so they may want to hold on to him for that reason. But the summer will be a big test.

I'm not so sure, after what Ronnie Brewer has done this season, its going to be hard for anyone to take that job away. He is by far the MOI player, and if he doesn't get it, its a freaking joke. CJ has done decent (had one amazing game) coming off the bench this year and in a few starts due to injury. I don't think Almond will be a starter any time soon, but he could be a pretty decent back up in a couple years

You misunderstood me. I meant CJ and Almond will be fighting for the backup job. I agree, Brewer will be starting. But if CJ doesn't show heart this summer, Almond will be backup, otherwise, he will just play in the D-League another year.

It seems to me the way that Sloan is restricting Miles playing time that he might not be around next year. He started Ronnie Price over him after Miles had started a few games earlier in the year. If Sloan doesn't like you then you are gone. Just like Gireck.

Not to mention that price is just the man. One of my favorite jazz players at the moment.

I think that Miles is leaving soon.
