I hope he is back next year for the sake of the team. He was the integral part of the team that really put BYU at the top of MWC. A little more help from Trent (how are those FT coming Trent-keep practising!) and I think they could have been a top-20 team.
I didn't like the article. First, what does athletic mean? They can jump high? Run fast? Lift a lot of weights? Look good in a leisure suit? What? To say he is not particularly athletic seems to be a pretty sad statement about the co-player of the year from a major conference. C'mon Lee jump higher next time! Let's see if you can dunk! Maybe only the particularly athletic players are the ones that get invited to the dunk contest!
Next, to say his stock is "unlikely to ever be higher" is completely ignorant. If he (and Trent) return and lead the team into the sweet 16 with outstanding play I can guarantee that his "stock" will go way up. The ironic this is that the author even made mention of this in the Chalmers writeup. "Few players, if any, boosted their stock more in the postseason than Chalmers, the 6-foot-1 guard who hit a 3-pointer to force overtime in the title game. He scored in double figures in every NCAA Tournament game..." Can you say "con-tri-dic-tion". Maybe he just expects BYU to be so bad next year even with Lee that they won't make the tournament.
My educated guess is that this is all regurdgatation from other "experts" that have not seen much of Cummard. Kind of like the "weak arm" syndrome that John Beck suffered from.
