Trent's Gone 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 7
I know most of us wanted him back but Trent has signed his agent and therefore will not be coming back next year. I know he has been invited to the camp in Orlando which is very important and he already has at least one team practice set up with several more in the works.

Part of the reason this happened is that NCAA rules not only exclude you from hiring an agent but from having one do anything for you as well. Its hard to get invites if you don't have the agent so most schools turn a blind eye to this but BYU does not so it was either get little attention or sign an agent.

I think this is probably a good move on his part as I don't really think he will gain much by coming back another year. How many seniors do you see in the mock drafts so in the first round? In reality his best year to go would have been his freshman year. Rose won't use him any differently next year which will keep him from becoming the best player he can be. I don't think Trent has any illusions of being a lottery pick or even possibly a first rounder but the second round I think is very likely. Worst case he ends up in Europe making $150K tax free with no living expenses.

Good Luck Trent!!

Was there an article on this? Or do you have some inside information? I wish the best for Trent and enjoyed his contribution to BYU basketball. I predict he will go 2nd round and hopefully be in the Rocky Mountain Review.

Why do you think it is hard for Plaisted to get an invite to the NBA pre-draft camp in Orlando or that having an agent helps him get an invite?

The camp has a limited number of people (I believe 70). Having an agent shows that you are serious about going and it also can get you into other camps prior to the one in Orlando. Trent is currently in Woodland Hills at one of these camps that was recommended by an agent. More than that I think it gets you more invites to teams because agents will of course have a lot more connections.
