You spend a few hours around the BYU Athletics complex, and you're bound to run into someone interesting. Yesterday, among the many people we encountered during our rounds was Tyler Haws. The Lone Peak star and BYU's primary recruiting interest was with his parents on an unofficial visit. He had lunch with the basketball staff, met with Tom Holmoe, and things are said to have gone well.

Lone Peak coach Quincy Lewis would prefer that his players with scholarship offers make their college choices by October 1st, but there are indications the Haws decision will come prior to that date.

I talked to a member of Tylers extended family a few days ago. He said Tyler is playing it close to the vest, and his father is telling him he will support whatever choice he makes. But all the uncles, cousins, etc... bleed blue and never miss a chance to put in a good word for the Y.
The only disconcerting news he had was that besides BYU, the school that has been schmoozing him the most is the Yew. Boylen has been to his home numerous times and has made it clear he is his #1 priority this year.
I don't know if he has made a visit, but I do know he has been spotted at Yew games with Satan, errrrr..Boylen.

I think Tyler Haws will be a great get for the Y, but I would sell my basketball soul to the devil if Haws going to the U meant BYU would win in football each year. I would do it in a heartbeat.

The kid is not going to the Yew. He was leaning at Stanford until Trent Johnson left. Now, he is BYU's to lose.

Give Tyler all the special treatment he wants, no one wants him more than us. He's a Haws for goodness sake.

Now Coach Rose needs to find him some good passing big men and a point that can penetrate and we're set after Tylers mish.
