I don't think the Jazz will ever get there until they get someone in the middle who will plug things up. Not your best play to have your center out there shooting 3's.

Unless someone can point out to us Jazz fans, where are the "big centers" that plug up the middle that play for the Lakers and Celtics...?

I resent the comment that anyone who honestly thought the Lakers would lose must have a screw loose. Anyone could see in the series against the Spurs that Gasol was too soft to handle a strong inside presence and that Odom is totally unreliable. If 2 of your 3 best players have those problems, you will have problems when you face a team like the Celtics.

I'm of the belief that the Spurs would have been playing the Celtics if Ginobli had been healthy. I also think that the Spurs will go out in the offseason and fix some of the holes in their team. They usually do. They will then return as the best team in the West. The Hornets will be right behind them with the Lakers playing for third best.

I also wanted to point out ONE MORE TIME that I called the Celtics in 6.

Metal Bubba, may you predict an undefeated football season and a BCS bowl for the Cougars, and may you be right!

Or the Pistons, or the Mavericks, or the Hornets, or the Spurs, or the Caveliers, or any other team who legitimately had a shot at the title this year.

The funniest part of mountaincougar's assessment is that, to follow his implicit logic, Memo cannot clog up the middle because he is shooting 3's. Do we want our center to clog up the middle on offense? Because that is all that most centers do in the NBA anymore.

As far as Memo's defensive contributions, the paucity of post defense is more a function of Boozer's lack of defense than Memo's. Boozer is likely the worst defender on the court--hence the perpetual foul trouble in the playoffs when the tempo slows to favor half-court sets and post play.

In the new NBA that favors quickness, I would take Memo over a clog-the-middle center any day, because the clog-the-middle centers are liabilities with the no-contact zone under the basket.

Not that he is on par with KG, but where do you think the Celtics would have ended up without KG playing?

So make up your mind. In the same sentence you say that Bynum is not on par with KG but then imply Bynum is on par with KG because the Celtics wouldn't have been as good with KG out. Typical Laker logic. You can't have it both ways.

Say whatever you want but the fact is the Lakers are an embarrassment. Kobe played like a rookie. Phil Jackson was out coached by a man that never won a playoff series, and the Lakers are as fake and plastic as the celebs that attend their games.

It been a long time since I've slept as well as I did last night and then I get on and read how Jordan Farmar is going to make the Lakers better next year!?! You have a better chance of convincing Al Gore that global warming is a hoax.

Go Jazz. You better be ready next year. Jordan Farmar and Luke Walton will be ready for you.

ps Sorry if I'm coming off as mean and sarcastic. I just can't stand the Lakers. They are right up there with the Yewts.

Hating the Lakers is cool. Misstating someone else's points, which is what I think you were doing with my post, is not. But let's move on....If the Lakers were willing to give the Jazz its first round pick, would it be willing to take Luke Walton too? That guy is bad!
